WELCOME TO
LAKESHORE MIDDLE SCHOOL CHOIRS!
Quotes from 8th Graders, last spring:
- This class has made me find myself in ways I never thought I could and has opened my eyes to so many different things in life. I learned how everything isn't perfect and, that is ok. I met so many different friends and people that have made me laugh so hard through these years. You helped unite us into harmony and really showed us how hard work truly does pay off. -K
- I've been in your class ever since 6th Grade. In your class I've made friends that I still carry today. And as cheesy as it sounds, your class is like my second home. I look forward to coming to choir everyday. I want to say thank you for being such an amazing choir teacher, and always seeing the best in us. - N.
- One of my favorite things about choir is the community it builds. I also loved the small group projects that gave a break from the stress of school. -A.
- Being in choir for the past two years has also helped me in band. I'm sorry for not being in choir in sixth grade. You've helped me find my singing voice and I was able to make new friends. - D.
- Mrs. Conrad and Mrs. Meyer are my favorite teachers. Mrs. Conrad has always been so caring, patient, and forgiving. Mrs. Meyer has always been the comic relief of the choir who can put a smile on anyone's face. Both of you have made the choir experience so incredibly fun. - M.
- Everyday for three years, I was always excited to go to choir because of how much fun it is in there. Thank you for not making me feel nervous when I first moved here in 6th grade. Thank you for making everyone in choir, including myself, laugh everyday. Even in these hard times we could still come together and create music. -N.
- Thank you for nurturing my through middle school. I've learned so much about my voice. Not only about my singing voice, but my voice, as in what I stand for and what I like. -S.
- Choir is literally one of the only places where I can be myself and not worry about being judged or criticized. I sing all the time, and it really helps me cool down, release the tension, and bring me to a happier place. -H.
- I made most of my friends through choir. So, I am glad I signed up for choir for all three years of me being in middle school. It helped me learn to sing a lot better. It has definitely been one of my favorite classes in middle school. -E.
- The choir room is a place where I can forget about my worries and just create memories and music. -N.

Here are some common Questions & Answers about LMS Choirs:
Here are some common Questions & Answers about LMS Choirs:
- Do I have to audition to get into choir? No! Our daily, grade level choirs are open to all - without an audition. (There are extra groups in 7th and 8th Grade that you might want to audition for, but no pressure!)Will I have to sing alone in front of the choir?
- NO! Some students are comfortable with that and might choose to sing for us, but that is never required!
- Will I have to sing in choir class? Yes! You will be expected to sing in choir, and in large groups of students singing the same voice part.
- I'm in band - so I can't be in choir, right? FALSE! You absolutely can be in both (in fact many of our strongest musicians are in both). There will never be scheduling conflicts between band and choir.
- If I'm in sports, should I avoid choir? NO! There are only a few evening concerts for choir, and the schedules can easily be worked out.
- Does Choir cost anything? NO! There is a choir shirt to buy, but we have many extras, so money will not be a factor in this decision!
- What if I don't think I'm a good singer? That's OK, lots of us feel that way (especially at the beginning). Singing is a skill that can be developed.
